Devoran Garden Gabions: Single and ready to mingle!!

From April 2014 you can now order our BBA Approved Gabion Baskets as single units on the website rather than in packs.

Up until now www.devoran-garden-gabions.co.uk supplied gabions in pack sizes of 3 or 5, but now offer customers the choice to order as little or as many as they like. The company's sales team said, "we really value our customers and want to ensure that we are giving them the best possible service on the web. We understand how competitive the current gabion market is and think that giving our customers the option of purchasing single units rather than packs will help us gain new custom and keep us at the forefront of the market".

Why buy a Devoran Gabion?

Devoran Gabions are not inferior quality imports from the Far East. These Far Eastern Gabions may be slightly cheaper but in our experi-ence you will find that you get what you pay for. Devoran Gabions are BAA Approved and are of superior strength and quality. You can feel confident that when you buy from Devoran you are buying the best.

Rebar Art: Oh the possibilities...

After making the 14' high tree umbrella and bird feeder for Henry Orchard & Sons, it got us thinking: what other strange and unique designs could be made out of rebar? In its natural state some people may consider rebar 'ugly', however with a little bit of imagination and a good team of master fabricators behind you (just like the ones we have here at Devoran Metals) this versatile material takes on a whole new beauty. Take a look at the examples below which I found! I think my favourite are the chairs...or maybe the coat rack.... or maybe the planter...actually I can't decide, I love them all!!

Love the idea of painting rebar!! Wonder how our customers would feel if we painted all their orders pink, hmmmm....

These pieces would look great in any garden, not too sure about that huge spider though...Scary!!

Devoran Metals in the Garden

If you think that rebar can only be used for reinforcement then think again! Here at Devoran Metals we think that this wonderfully versatile material looks great in the garden and makes unique eye-catching products such as trellises, arches and even bird feeders

Never one to turn down a challenge, Devoran Metals prefabricated our biggest garden project to date, a 14’ high tree-umbrella / bird feeder for Henry Orchard & Sons in St Austell. Measuring nearly 4.5 meters, the staggering creation was designed and fabricated by our team in just one day! Who knew trees could grow that fast?

Machinery Investment Increases Rebar Production Capacity

Here at Devoran Metals we have vastly improved production capacity with investment in new rebar bending machinery.

The Stema Pedax Twinmaster, which runs alongside our original coil rebar bender, cuts and bends twice as much rebar at a time as well as processing 16mm diameter rebar, which previously had to be cut and bent manually; a much more time consuming process.

Not only does the machine save time on rebar production, it also reduces waste and manual handling requirements.

At Devoran we can cut and bend rebar from 8mm to 40mm diameter with full CARES certification, and we also have the capability to cut and bend reinforcing mesh to your requirements.

With our experienced in-house steel fixers and welders we can also offer a prefabrication service for ground beams, pile cages and so on to save time and labour costs on site, or to fill a skills gap on sites with no experienced steel fixers.

Devoran Metals show a 'hole' lotta love for the Phoenix Stroke Appeal

When there's a Charity Golf Day on, you may expect that Devoran would be supporting it by sending our MD Richard up to it to hit a few balls, score a few birdies and maybe sink a few pints at the 19th hole, but when the details came through to us about the Phoenix Stroke Appeal event at Killiow Golf Club in Truro we went a step further and sponsored a hole!
The Phoenix Stroke Appeal is BBC Radio Cornwall's dedicated charity. They aim to raise £500,000 to help stroke survivors in Cornwall. It looks like the event was a great success and the sun came out to shine on all the participants! We wish BBC Cornwall every success in hitting their £500,000 target.

Even Alan Titchmarsh loves Devoran Garden Gabions!

Here at Devoran Metals we received an interesting call from the production team at ITV's 'Alan Titchmarsh Show'. They had seen our gabion website and were interested in using them for an upcoming feature on recycling and upcycling household goods. The focus was on the office and our gabions were used to store files and to provide a stand for a scanner.

We had never seen them used in this way before but it certainly gave us food for thought. We've seen gabions used outdoors filled with all sorts of items from the regular stone fill to wine bottles, plant pots and shells, but the idea of using them indoors had never occured to us. So it seems the possibilities really are endless!
Wonder if we could replace our office counter with a funky gabion wall? Now that would be eyecatching!
